Caring For The Elderly At Wychwood
The Lalanis provide a caring home environment
At Wychwood House we understand that our residents are looking for the best possible care available. Permanent, respite and day care residents all require a homely setting, excellent quality of care and a supportive environment in which to flourish. The needs of each individual resident really is important to us and we make every effort to make sure that each resident feels welcomed and at home. We also consider residents' families who want to make sure that they are not only doing the right thing in encouraging their parents to take this major step, but that they have indeed, found the right residential home for their mother or father. At Wychwood, we consider the family to be a very important part of the team who cares for and supports their loved ones. Staff TrainingWychwood has a proactive approach to staff training, with all staff undertaking NVQ3 in Care, as well as Dementia Care from Stirling University. Options to Suit Each IndividualWychwood House has a range of options to suit individual requirements. We care for elderly residents who want the support of a care home, as well as those with a range of needs, including dementia. Re-enablement ServicesWe offer re-enablement services to help people who may have recently come out of hospital or suffered an illness or injury which has sapped their strength and may have affected core skills. We find that such individuals need a little time to rebuild their confidence and enhance their skill base before they return home. At Wychwood, we are fully equipped to provide the support and care that they need. Day CareWychwood House offers care and support of the elderly on a permanent or ad hoc basis. Some clients might like to come in for a limited amount of time, say, when a family member who usually supports them at home, is on holiday. Others may be regular day care visitors. This allows day care residents to enjoy the support of a retirement home and its facilities during the day, but to retain the independence of living in their own homes. Respite CareRespite care is offered to those who live at home, but whose full time carers need some time to recharge their energy. Permanent CareOf course, for others permanent residential care is the right choice. Usually, such individuals are finding it harder to cope and manage at home. They now need the support of a caring, residential home. Often, relatives will find that their loved ones demonstrate some improvement, as regular meals, medication and appropriate therapies pay dividends. Wychwood House has two units, with eighteen beds offered in the main house and a further six beds in the bungalow, which has its own kitchen for residents to use, as they choose.
