"Wychwood House was a real god-send when I finally had to accept that my beloved wife had to go into care "

"Mum has been at Wychwood for over 4 years now where she has received excellent care. She was first placed in Wychwood for respite for a fortnight in August of 2006 as I was going to be away on holiday and was worried about her care because I was her main carer. When I came to Wychwood to collect her after the fortnight, she was sitting in the lounge reading a magazine and looked up and said 'I hope you haven’t come to take me home, because I'm having such a nice time here!'"

"It was decided to let her stay for another week whilst I decided what to do for the best, and when that week was over, Mum was asked again if she wanted to stay or come home. She decided to stay. The care she receives is of the highest quality. The staff of Wychwood are not only caring but treat the residents with respect and allow them to be as independent as far as is possible. Mum's personal needs are attended to, such as hair appointments, chiropody and every month she receives a manicure. All these things help to keep her self-esteem and as she has become older and frailer her care has been adjusted with the minimum fuss whilst allowing mum to keep her dignity. I cannot sing the praises of the staff enough and many of them have become personal friends as the time has gone on and I feel that we are sharing the care of Mum as I'm always consulted on decisions and changes that need to be made".

"Wychwood is warm, clean (no smell) and Mum is always beautifully dressed and looked after. As she has got older, she has become more fussy with her food and every effort is made to make sure her nutrition is under control. I know she is happy at Wychwood because she still maintains her sense of humour and is encouraged to be as active as is possible including outings and indoor activities. Because she is happy, I am happy."
